Virtue signaling at its worst
No one should be entering their children into any COVID19 clinical trials
The mother and father in this photo decided to place their two very young children into a COVID19 experimental genetic injection clinical trial. The mother is a senior scientist and works for Merck, one of the top pharma companies. After the loss of an adult cousin to COVID19, she wanted to make a contribution to humanity and science. As a senior scientist, she looks forward to telling her two young children that they “did something special” [1].
What is the problem with this? These are very young children. They probably barely know their right hand from their left, and they certainly need help tying their shoe laces. Yet, their mother has taken it upon herself to enter them into a clinical trial for experimental injections, with known risks, that are not insignificant.
I am not necessarily blaming anyone who did the same thing early in 2021, before we knew all that we know about these experimental injections. The worrying fact is that many mothers and fathers think just like this, even after all the stories about injuries. Even if there were no stories about injuries, this would be a bad step to take.
Why?
Because it is virtue signaling at its worst. These parents are trying to say, “Look at us. We are a part of the solution to COVID19. Our children are doing something special for the future of mankind.” Children should not be solving life’s problems for humanity. At their age, something special would be making a home run on the little baseball league, or giving a piano or a violin recital. Taking part in a clinical trial, is not an achievement.
Children should be free from submission to the types of risks that these injections are known to have. They appear to be blessed with good health. Why should that be put at risk, when they can’t consent for themselves? They have had to go through the pain of blood draws, and goodness only knows what other types of discomfort they experience, if they are in the investigational group. If they are in the Placebo group and receive only vehicle, depending on the study design, the vehicles are not harmless.
What makes the mother extremely irresponsible, is that working for a pharma company implies that she should know more than most about the technology. To risk their children’s health by allowing this technology to be injected to them, is highly troubling. They have been told this by friends and family, yet they have persisted.
We know nothing about the long term effects of these injections on the reproductive systems of children, or if their growth and development will be impacted. We do not know if it will impact future generations, but this has always been the concern with gene transfer technologies. What we already know about risks causes us to be very concerned about the immune system. We also know that the cardiovascular system is at risk from these injections.
Why would anyone take this risk? Even if they had a life-threatening disease, this is the last product that should be administered to them.
Anyone wanting to virtue signal should do so with their own health, but the health of their children should be off-limits. Who is watching out for the children?
